Tash’s vision is to provide people with more compassionate food choices that not only, are no compromise to their animal based counterparts but even better, and she certainly is doing that at BReD!

Here’s our chat with her 🌿

1. Where’d you grow up and where do you live now?

I grew up in south-east London, UK. Now I live in Creekside overlooking Whistler Mountain.

2. What is your definition of strength?

Smiling in the face of adversity.

3. What is something that’s important to you now that never used to be?

A morning routine – getting up early and taking time for yourself before dealing with anyone and anything else.

4. How would you describe your style?

Sustainable and conscious – I only buy second-hand or clothing from brands which give back socially, or take care of the environment or the animals.

5. Favourite food to cook at home?

I love soups, and I’m really into sprouting seeds at the moment and throwing them in as many dishes as I can – salads, toast toppers.

6. What’re 3 books on your bookshelf?

The Sprout Book by Doug Evans

Becoming by Michelle Obama

A Garland of Forest Flowers by Swami Nirmalananda

7. What’s something you want to accomplish in the next year?

The Vegan Business Directory for the S2S Corridor: A place where vegans can find and employ/contract other vegans and support the growth of the local vegan economy. 8. Tell us something people would find surprising about you:

I grew up in foster care, moving from home to home all over South-east London and North Kent. I spent some time homeless and missed a lot of school around the ages of 12-14. But I have a degree in English and had a 15-year career as an English teacher and examiner before opening our bakery. 9. Favourite movie?

Forest Gump: It’s comedy, tragedy, drama, action, romance, war, politics, history, and more – all in one. A timeless classic! 10. How do you want people to remember you?

As a change-maker, for the good of the people, the animals and the planet.
