Nearly 200 fires are still burning across the entire country of Australia, where smoke has been spreading thousands of miles even as far as New Zealand.

2. 8,000 Koalas dead
3. 500m animals dead
4. More than 1400 homes destroyed
5. Over 5.5 Million hectares burned
6. More than 10 million people in toxic level of bushfire smoke.
With the Fires only predicted to continue, Australia needs our HELP so Velvet Underground wants to donate $1 from every Vegemite "beef" beer pie, or Vegemite cheese & avo toasties to charity's supporting the fire fighter's and people affected. Our goal is to raise $500 so come in and grab yourself a pie or toastie. We will also have a donation jar set up if you wish to donate some more.
