WOMAN WEDNESDAY With Renee Russo

For today's feature, we have Renee Russo. Renee is an Entrepreneur, a keynote speaker, a Certified EOS Implementer, a mum of 3, and she is also my business coach. To put it into one word, Renee is a powerhouse. She is fiercely passionate about educating and empowering entrepreneurs to get the most out of their businesses and to live their best lives. Her motivation, focus, and drive are infectious, making it pretty much impossible not to succeed under her leadership. On top of being a badass business coach, Renee enjoys spending time with her kids, being outdoors, and being active. She loves trail running, paddle boarding, spinning, and baking. Go follow her @reneerussoeos for lots of business motivation and to find out more about her work.

Here's our chat with her

1. Where’d you grow up and where do you live now?

I grew up in Melbourne Australia. I have spent 15 years in both Vancouver and Whistler. I was raised by 2 blue-collar public servants who both grew up on farms. I spend most of my summers on the coast in the country with family.

2. What is your definition of strength?

Having the courage to be my true and authentic self in the face of judgment and criticism. Owning my voice and not being afraid to speak it. Also having the humility and willingness to learn and grow through adversity.

3. What is something that’s important to you now that never used to be?

Self-care is a huge priority for me. In the past, I put myself and my needs aside.  I spend all of my time serving others, then I realized that the more I disregarded myself, the less I have to offer.  Now I put daily time and attention into my self-care and growth.  The more I take care of myself, the more I have to offer.

4. How would you describe your style?

Edgy and evolving.  I love high-contrast looks that have a mix of texture and colour.  I enjoy accessorizing to add a little emphasis and embellishment. My style evolves quickly alongside my personal development, I am changing quickly. Vintage has always made up 30-40% of my closet. I love the history and story behind vintage items, they have a lot of character and depth.

5. Favourite plant-based food to cook at home?

Roasted yams and cauliflower with miso glaze and sesame seeds, delish!!

6. What’re 3 books on your bookshelf?

Good to Great, Jim Collins.  Limitless, Jim Kwik. The Daily Stoic, Ryan Holiday.

7. What’s something you want to accomplish in the next year?

A 3-week international holiday, complete clarity break, and disconnect from my work.

8. Tell us something people would find surprising about you.

I am a minimalist, I like the nice things in life but I don't like excess.  I am constantly purging and when I buy things I am immediately donating something back to make room for it. Less is more!

9. Favourite movie?

Life is Beautiful

10. How do you want people to remember you?

A woman who owned her truth spoke her own voice and made a huge difference in the lives of others.
